This article is about mythological creatures tomte / nisse. tomst, or tomtenisse (Sweden) (Swedish: [⊃2;tɔmːtɛ]), NISSE (Denmark and Norway) (Denmark: [nesə]; Norway: [⊃2;nisːe]; Danish plural nisser) or tonttu (Finland) is a mythical creature from northern Europe Folklore today usually relates to the winter solstice and the Christmas season. It is commonly described as not more than 90 centimeters (35 inches) long with long white beards and wearing a round or woven hat in red or some other bright color. They often have a garden dwarf that looks a bit similar (also known as trädgårdstomte in Sweden, havenisse in Denmark and hagenisse Norway). [1]
Nice is one of the most familiar creatures in Scandinavian folklore, and he appears in many Scandinavian literary works. With the romance and collection of nineteenth-century folklore, Nice will be welcome. In the English version of the Anderson HC fairy tale, the word nisse has been translated inaccurately into goblins (more accurate translations are brownies or hobs). "
